Arsenal closely monitoring €30m-rated Portugal international

Vitinha is attracting interest from the PL as Arsenal and Man United race for the midfielder’s signature. The Porto midfielder had a terrific 2021/22 campaign, winning the league and putting in some fantastic performances along the way.

Portugal international was one of the Dragons’ most important footballers in their title-winning season, playing 40 games across all tournaments. Vitinha’s displays have continued to attract interest from big PL teams looking to bring him back to England in the summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder previously spent a campaign on loan at Wolves, playing 22 games across all tournaments. His presence was not convincing enough for the club to trigger a permanent move, although that decision could come back to bite them if his release clause is triggered.

Primeira Liga giants are demanding his €40m release clause be paid to add the Portuguese, with plenty of interest emerging in this market. Arsenal and Man United are credited with an interest in the midfielder, who has a deal until 2024 with the Dragons.

The Gunners are in the market for a new midfielder and consider Tielemans as the priority signing. However, they were also rumoured to be keeping an eye out for another midfielder, which could be the case if Xhaka was to depart.

The €40m release clause may not bother the Gunners, considering their budget this summer. However, Arsenal could look to reduce the price tag if there is a chance.
