Red Devils attacker Jesse Lingard has spoken to Chris Smalling and Ashley Young about life in Italy as he plots life away from Theatre of Dreams. England international teamed up with super-agent Mino Raiola in 2019 in a move that did not go unnoticed in the corridors of power at Man United.
Jesse has suffered a drastic loss in form over the last 18 months and has lost his place as a regular under the Norwegian manager. That’s led to Lingard considering his future at Man United, particularly following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in his favoured playmaker position.
The 27-year-old winger has attracted interest from Gunners but would prefer a move abroad, and he’s spoken to Smalling, and Young about life in Serie A. Chris joined Roma on loan last summer, and the Giallorossi are keen to make his move permanent following an excellent season in the capital.
Ashley was permitted to join Inter Milan on a free in winter, and the club have since extended his contract by a further 12 months after he impressed Antonio Conte. AC Milan have been heavily linked with a move for the English attacker, and he is believed to be open to a move to the San Siro.
Jesse Lingard had been all but set on an exit before the pandemic hit, but it stays to be seen whether the Italian club can still fund a move for him. Red Devils are likely to seek nearly £15-20m for Jesse Lingard, but his £100,000-a-week wages could prove the bigger stumbling block.
