£70m-rated Reds player will skip the UCL clash due to suspension

Merseyside club centre-back Virgil van Dijk got yellow card against Napoli and he will miss the Champions League match with Bayern Munich. This is bad news for the Reds as Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez have an injury and there are no more defenders to help Joel Matip in the back-line. So Fabinho has to back-up him as he is a versatile footballer and can play in several positions. The Netherlands international has a fantastic campaign and proved his greatness one more time. It will be very difficult to play against Bavarians without him but there is no other way.

Virgil joined Liverpool from Southampton last January with the £80m deal. He became an unchanged figure for the club and played many matches amazingly since joining. In this season, van Dijk already made 32 matches, scored one goal and made 2 assists in all tournament. This is an excellent result and he can improve his consequences during this season. The 27-year-old centre-back is contracted with the English club until 2023 and his release clause is nearly €75m. His price could increase and become much more.

Dutch centre-back is a captain and real leader in the national team and also helped them to reach the UEFA Nations League semi-final which is already a big achievement for the player. Liverpool have perfect results in the Premier League as they leading the table and have a big chance to win the competition. Merseyside club signed Fabinho from Monaco, Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, Alisson Becker from Roma last summer and improved the squad much more.
