27-year-old goalkeeper could leave Arsenal during the summer

The London giants shot-stopper Emiliano Martinez has admitted in an interview that 10 European teams are interested in signing him this summer. Argentina international has looked solid in his first campaign as Gunners backup shot-stopper following six different loan spells during his decade-long spell with Arsenal.

Martinez showed his impressive ability when he was called into the No.1 role following Bernd Leno’s injury in the Gunners second match of the restart. Emiliano showed that he’s good enough for a starting role in a top division with wonderful displays since he was called into action.

The 27-year-old admits that he would like to remain at Arsenal, but he’ll only do so if he is awarded ‘more minutes’, which is a completely fair demand for the goalkeeper. The Argentine goalkeeper has helped Arsenal keep nine clean sheets in his 23 games across all tournaments this term, he made some big saves since being thrust into the No.1 role after Bernd’s severe injury.

Emiliano has been called up to Argentina’s senior squad on two occasions but has never been capped, that should all change when international football can safely resume after his fantastic form. Arsenal have a very difficult task on their hands now, Emiliano wants to be on equal standing with Bernd or he’ll seek a starting role elsewhere to leave.

Emiliano won the hearts of football fans with his emotional reaction to Arsenal’s FA Cup triumph with Chelsea, he’d waited over a decade for that moment. Martinez is a model professional that has shaped into a quality option for the London giants between the sticks, the club should work as hard as possible to ensure the Argentine stays put.
