Manchester United target Justin Kluivert is in the centre of positive discussions with Ajax over a contract extension, according to his agent Mino Raiola.
The teenage son of retired Dutch ace Patrick Kluivert has reportedly drawn attention from numerous sides, including Man United and his father’s ex-club Barcelona.
The youngster earlier admitted that he would be open to joining a Premier League side, however now Raiola has claimed that his client will stay put.
“The negotiations are running well, and there are no ripples in the water, but I must handle this very carefully, At Ajax, Justin is still playing under a small contract, and there is a lot of interest for him, an exceptional amount and from the biggest clubs.
“You have to take those noises seriously too, because we are dealing with one of the greatest talents in the world.” – Raiola told De Telegraaf.
Kluivert has netted six goals and made four assists in 21 Eredivisie games.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC and Manchester United are set to do the contest for the services of Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski this summer, according to stories in the British media.
Sky Sports is suggesting that the two Premier League clubs are both keen on luring the 29-year-old forward to England, however, their wishes of signing him rest on the player’s experience to convince Bayern to sell this summer.
The same story suggests that the Poland skipper who is under contract until 2021 is keen to leave the Bundesliga side this summer as he seeks a new challenge during the best years of his career.
As reported by the same story, Lewandowski has hired super-agent Pini Zahavi to barter a deal to release him from the Bundesliga champions.
But, the same story says that it will not be simple for the attacker to persuade the German team to part company with him this summer.
And it is also suggested that Manchester United and Chelsea FC will likely face strong competition from a host of European teams for his services, including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Manchester United are expected to be in the race for reinforcements this summer as Jose Mourinho appears to assemble a squad capable of winning the title next year.
The Blues will also be looking to add to their side, with Alvaro Morata having battled for form in last months.
