According to the father of Manchester United target Cengiz Under, his son could be set to leave Turkish club Basaksehir in the summer transfer window in order to join Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old Cengiz Under is widely regarded as one of the most promising prospects in Turkish football and it is believed both Man United and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on the talented forward.

Some reports claim that Spurs have already agreed an £8m transfer fee for the youngster and his father, Hasan Cengiz, has lifted the lid on negotiations with an unnamed club.

He said: ‘Cengiz Under talks are ongoing, what can I say except wish him the best of luck.’

The highly-demanded Turkey international admitted earlier this month that he is willing to play in the Premier League at some stage in his career.

Cengiz said: ‘Every player wants to play in a team like Manchester United or Chelsea.

‘I believe that one day I will play for one of those teams. Among the leagues I want to play in are La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League, but I want to play in the Premier League the most.’
