West Bromwich Albion head coach Alan Pardew has downplayed stories that Arsenal star Calum Chambers could be heading to the club in a part-exchange deal that will see Jonny Evans move on the opposite side.

The Baggies skipper has been linked with the North Londoners and some other Premier League giants. However, Pardew has refused that he is interested in bringing Chambers to The Hawthorns.

“No, that name has not entered into my thinking, Or names at Arsenal, Man City or Man Utd if I’m honest.” – Pardew told reporters when quizzed on the part-exchange rumour

The manager went on to claim that no firm offers have been submitted for Evans, despite stories that Arsenal have launched a £25m for the footballer and Manchester City have stepped up their interest.

The Northern Ireland international was absent from the West Brom squad which defeated Exeter City in the FA Cup last weekend, however, is expected to return to action when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the league this weekend.
