Liverpool star Emre Can has developed as a transfer target for Manchester City, according to a story.
The 23-year-old, whose deal expires at the end of the campaign, has thus far failed to agree on new terms with the Reds.
Can is understood to be on the radar of Juventus and Bayern Munich and would be permitted to discuss pre-contract terms with European clubs in January.
But, The Mirror has announced that Sky Bet have made Man City front-runners sign the Germany international, followed by Juve, with Bayern in the third position.
Germany chief Oliver Bierhoff suggested earlier this week that there is a 60-80% opportunity of Can leaving Liverpool next summer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool target Stefan de Vrij is delaying signing a new contract with Lazio.
The defender’s current contract ends at the end of this campaign, and he is still yet to sign an extension.
Lazio are locked in negotiations with the 25-year-old however, as reported to Calciomercato, talks have hit a brick wall.
De Vrij is reportedly troubled with the proposed release clause in his new contract and wants it to be lowered.
Lazio are asking that any release clause in the Dutchman’s deal is at least £26.5m. However, he wants it to be around £22m.
More negotiations between the club and De Vrij’s agent are now supposed to take place in Rome over the weekend.
