It is claimed that Liverpool are still interested in landing Napoli star Piotr Zielinski.

The 23-year-old has netted eight goals and made two assists from midfield in 40 games so far this campaign.

As reported by the Tuttomercatoweb, the Reds have been watching the Polish international ever since his two-year loan spell at Empoli from Udinese during 2014 and 2016.

They were also linked with his services upon his return to the Bianconeri. But, the Partenopei finally won the hunt to land him in August 2016.

He has since enjoyed two exciting seasons in Maurizio Sarri’s midfield, prompting speculation that Liverpool could revive their interest next transfer window.

Meanwhile, Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly will only be sold if a club offers £65million, as reported by the TalkSport.

The Senegalese international is reportedly on the short list of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal after an excellent campaign at the heart of the Serie A side’s defence.

The African has helped Napoli allowed just 21 goals in 31 league games this campaign, with the Partenopei four points off league leaders Juventus.

The 26-year-old is undoubtedly one of Europe’s best defenders at the moment. However, it is debatable whether the Reds would shell out such a significant amount of money on another centre-half after spending £75m on Virgil van Dijk in January.

Saying that though, the Napoli centre-back could be an ideal partner for the Dutchman. He regularly plays on the right-hand side of the centre pairing while van Dijk plays on the left.

With Joel Matip missing the remainder of the campaign due to injury and having struggled for form, in general, this campaign, a bid for another centre-half is not out of the question; however whether we would make such a sizeable offer for another defender, it remains to be seen.
