Denmark international is demanded defender and many big clubs like Lyon and Arsenal also keen to sign him. 29-year-old had an impressive season and with Sevilla, he reached Champions League quarterfinals. Kjaer joined Spanish club from Fenerbahce in 2017 with a £12m deal. Simon contracted with Sevilla until 2021 and his release clause is nearly £20m. In this season he played 36 games and scored 3 goals in all competition. He also named in Denmark squad for the World Cup and his team reached playoffs. After losing against Croatia in Penalty shootout they kicked out from the Mundial.
Liverpool already signed Naby Keita from RB Leipzig and Fabinho from Monaco. Reds also very close to signing Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri. Klopp’s long-term target is Lyon star Nabil Fekir but the deal isn’t done yet. Kjaer will strengthen the Liverpool squad which is the main goal for German coach.
