According to some sources, an unknown “big English club” proposed a significant offer for Jorginho ahead of the January transfer window, but the Italian decided to stay at Napoli until the summer to help his team end a 27-year Scudetto drought.
It is considered that Liverpool was that team as Jurgen Klopp has shown interest in Napoli midfielder in the past, – who many suggest to become the future of Italy’s midfield.
Playing as a holding midfielder, he is frequently compared to Italian legend, Andrea Pirlo.
Since 2011/12 season Jorginho was playing with Hellas Verona, before joining Napoli back in 2014 and now he is now one of the leaders of the Gli Azzurri.
Maurizio Sarri has used Jorginho since taking the reigns almost three seasons ago, as the Italian conducts the play from deep within midfield using his vision and control on the ball. Sarri chose a ruthless pressing system this season, similar to Jurgen Klopp, and this philosophy is arguably the main reason Napoli top the table in Serie A.
Given his current side’s style of play and unquestionable talent, Jorginho would slot seamlessly into this current Liverpool side.
