Liverpool and Everton are believed to be interested in signing Charlton Athletic centre-half Ezri Konsa.

The 20-year-old, who played in the England Under-20 side that won the World Cup last summer, has been praised by Charlton coach Karl Robinson as one of the country’s hottest defensive chances.

The Mirror suggests that the Addicks have put a £5m price tag on the defender, with both Merseyside clubs allegedly keen on his signature.

Liverpool and Everton, who both have links with the League One club, have landed Reds defender Joe Gomez and the Toffees’ Ademola Lookman from the club in recent campaigns.

Gomez played at the back under Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Swansea City on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is ready to shock Premier League by luring Liverpool midfielder Emre Can (€28.9) to Manchester United this summer.

The ex Bayer Leverkusen ace falls out of the deal at the end of the season and has been strongly tipped to join Juventus. Both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly keen, while there has also been interested in Can from Manchester City.

But, Il Corriere Dello Sport suggests the Red Devils have contacted Can’s agent to consider the chance of a shock free transfer move to Old Trafford in the summer. As incredible as the deal appears, Can is yet to secure a new contract at Anfield and could yet be convinced to create history by making a move.
