Inter Milan have reportedly joined the race to land Chelsea star Nemanja Matic this summer.

The 28-year-old has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge during the ongoing transfer window, with Manchester United believed to be between the sides interested in his signature.

But, Corriere Dello Sport suggests that United will face tough competition from Inter Milan after the Italian giants lodged a £35m offer for the Serbia Internacional.

Inter are looking to create a team competent of taking them back to the top of Italian football and see Matic as a perfect option in midfield having been knocked back in their hunt for Roma’s Radja Nainggolan.

The Serbian star is likely to be available if Chelsea finalises the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco, and the West Londoners would be more than willing to offload to a team outside of Premier League.

But, Matic’s own choice is understood to be a transfer to Old Trafford, where he would be reunited with ex-Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte completed the transfer of Antonio Rudiger from Italian side As Roma.
