According to the latest transfer news, Chelsea are interested in a move for Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.

The leading broadcaster and journalist working for Poland’s biggest television network TVP Maciej Iwanski, insists that the Premier League winners have registered their interest in the 28-year-old centre-forward.

It is also believed that the former Borussia Dortmund star is considering a move to London, although Bundesliga champions are currently ruling out the prospect of selling their leading goalscorer.

Should the German giants reconsider their position, they would be in a strong negotiating position as the Polish superstar only signed a new contract deal in December which runs until 2021.

On Monday, Lewandowski’s agent fuelled speculation that Lewandowski is unhappy in Munich after missing out on the Bundesliga’s top goalscorer award to Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Maik Barthel told Kicker: ‘Robert told me that he got no support and that the coach gave no call to help him in the last game to win the top-scorer title.

‘He was disappointed as I have ever seen him before. He really hoped that the team [would] support him proactively.’
