Manchester United will have to see off competition from the likes of Chelsea FC if they want to land Richarlison from Watford this summer, according to stories.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United are keen on signing the 20-year-old South American as Jose Mourinho looks to reinforce his squad ahead of next campaign.
As reported to the same report, the Red Devils are the “favourites” to secure the services of the £40m-rated attacker, who has impressed during his first campaign at Watford.
Richarlison has netted five goals and made four assists in 34 Premier League matches for Watford so far this campaign and has shown lots of promise since his move to England last year.
The same story says that Manchester United are likely to face opposition from Tottenham, Chelsea FC, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus for Richardson’s services this summer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are eyeing a swoop for Anthony Martial, however, will face strong competition for the unsettled Manchester United winger, according to the Telegraph.
The winger forged a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe during his time at Monaco and earned a move to Man United in 2015 that’s so far cost the club £44m including various add-ons.
The 22-year-old has scored 36 goals and 27 assists in his 131 appearances in all tournaments so far at Old Trafford. However, Martial has struggled to reject a regular first-team spot under Jose Mourinho.
The Frenchman has started just 16 Premier League matches and hasn’t started a game in any tournament for almost a month since being accused by Mourinho of ‘hiding’ during the 2-0 FA Cup victory over Brighton.
Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal in January has seen Martial drop down the pecking order while Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are also competing for spots in an attack.
Although Martial is believed to be settled in Manchester and would ideally like to remain, the Telegraph claim he’s becoming increasingly disappointed with his bit-part role under Mourinho.
The attackers current deal ends in 2019 and while United have an option to automatically extend the deal until 2020, the outlet says talks over a new long-term contract have stalled after Martial rejected the teams latest offer.
