According to reports Chelsea are interested in signing Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland (€9.8m)

The Daily Mail is reporting the Blues are considering the English goalkeeper as a possible replacement for current number one Thibaut Courtois who has denied to sign a new contract.

Nevertheless, the source claims that Stoke rate the 24-year-old at more than £30million.

Of course, the Stamford Bridge outfit would like keeping hold on Thibaut Courtois as he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, but Butland would be a proper replacement.

Even though the Stoke man has been hindered by injuries in current seasons, he has shown that he can play at the top level with some impressive appearances in the Premier League over the years.

England international has played a total of 53 matches in the English top-flight during his young career, and he has kept 16 clean sheets in the process.

With Joe Hart’s international career surely set to come to an ending after the World Cup, Butland will be a candidate to become the nation’s number one goalkeeper.

Moving to the Blues would be the ideal platform for him to prove himself on a regular basis in the Champions League and he could find himself as the main player with Chelsea for the foreseeable future.
