Arsenal set to sign top-class midfielder valued at £40m

Arsenal have been told they must pay £40m for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi this summer. The Gunners already signed right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus, and they have been linked with N’Zonzi.

The former Sevilla boss managed N’Zonzi during his time at the club. There are few people who know N’Zonzi and his skills better than the Spaniard. Frenchman has been tentatively linked with a move to north London before and there is clearly a good relationship between the clubs.

Moreover, there has not been a clamouring for a hard-hitting, tough-tackling, ankle-biting defensive midfielder for a few years. For now, though, the midfielder’s attention emphasis on a World Cup 2018 competition with France.

French international price is around €40M. Nzonzi has experience in Premier League as he played for Stoke and Blackburn. 29-year-old also take an appearance in Champions League at Sevilla and could suit comfortably with Granit Xhaka. The two are similar – Nzonzi is probably a better tackler, Xhaka a better long passer.

N’Zonzi, 29, joined Sevilla in 2015, and he played a key role under Emery following his move from Stoke City.

Arsenal enter talks with £17m-rated central midfielder

Arsenal keeping tabs with Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson in this summer’s transfer window. Sanson keen on to join the club which plays in Champions League after Marseille lost Europa League final against Atletico Madrid and miss a chance to play in Euro competition.

Sanson, 23, joined Marseille last summer but is already being linked with a move as his performances have paid the attention of a plenty of clubs. The central midfielder was a key player in Marseille’s team over the 2017-18 season, played 50 games as the club finished fourth and reached the Europa League final.

The Gunners are also expected to bring Sokratis Papastathopoulos to the Emirates, while Caglar Soyuncu has become another top target. Emery is also keen on to buy Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.

The Greek defender Sokratis will be new boss Unai Emery’s second signing since replacing Arsene Wenger at the club last month. Papastathopoulos has been a long-time target for Arsenal but his move finally become a possible past month.

The Borussia Dortmund defender arrived in the UK ahead of his medical in north London. Papastathopoulos was at Arsenal’s training ground and the transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.

The 29-year-old has been a key player for Dortmund over the past five years since his joining from Werder Bremen. Sokratis also played 79 games for Greece, who failed to qualify for this summer’s World Cup in Russia. And the centre-back may be joined at Arsenal by other new transfers in the coming weeks.

Arsenal already signed a right-back, Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juve and Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu has also been linked with the Gunners. And Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has also become a shock target for Arsenal. The Belgian midfielder is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer and rejecting to sign a new deal at present.
