Lyon forward Nabil Fekir will reportedly be permitted to leave the club this summer amid rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The North Londoners are believed to have been chasing Fekir for some time now, but a claimed move to the Emirates Stadium in January failed to happen as Arsenal instead signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But, Arsenal have retained their interest in the 24-year-old and L’Equipe suggests that they have been given a boost in their hunt of the footballer after Lyon informed him that he would be allowed to leave this summer.

The agreement is reportedly part of Fekir’s contract at the club – which runs until 2020 – suggesting that he would be free to find a new team if a proper offer arrives, even if Lyon qualifies for next campaign’s Champions League.

The Gunners are expected to face competition from AC Milan for the France international’s services, and Lyon are unlikely to consider any proposals below £35m for their star man.

Fekir has netted 22 goals and created eight more across all tournaments this season.
