According to BBC commentator Jonathan Pearce, Arsenal signing Sergio Aguero from Manchester City in January would not be a surprise.
Alexandre Lacazette scored twice in his best performance after his £52million transfer from Lyon.
But if Pearce’s theory rings true, he could be competing with Man City star Aguero in January.
There were rumours in the summer that Arsenal could swap Alexis Sanchez with Manchester City for Aguero, or even Raheem Sterling.
And speaking to Martin Keown and Mark Chapman on BBC Radio 5 Live, Pearce claimed such deals could happen in January between the Premier League two clubs.
He said: “Sergio Aguero has been working hard for Manchester City over the years. He’s going to break the club’s scoring record.
“He’s a phenomenal worker; I think he’s joined in. He works hard in the box, and I think this is another chip at him.
“I don’t think it’s a marriage made in heaven, this – Aguero and Pep Guardiola.
“Criticism of work-rate has happened too often.
“I think Sergio Aguero is a sensational player. For me one of the best I’ve ever seen.
“Guardiola still wants Sanchez, that could happen in January. It’s Highly probable, that will happen in January.
“And it wouldn’t surprise me if Aguero comes to Arsenal.
“It was mooted in the summer, wouldn’t surprise me at all.”
